Image File Requirements
What are the file formats & size accepted?
We accept the following file formats: JPEG and PNG. All files uploaded should be at least 40 DPI to ensure picture quality. We are able to print up to 1000 DPI resolution with our high-end leading class UV flatbed printers. Our image uploader accepts files up to 100MB. If your file is larger, please send through Wetransfer to support@blankspace.ink.
To find out an image dimensions, right-click on the file name > Get info> More Info. Then to find out the DPI associated with your desired print format you can use this printing resolution calculator to verify your dimensions based on your photo’s aspect ratio (http://www.scantips.com/calc.html ). DPI (Dots Per Inch) is the same as PPI (Pixels Per Inch).
If you do have a technical understanding of photo resolution, we base the quality score on the pixels of your image. We recommend that the printable DPI should be over 75 for any size of print. However, as you print larger sizes, the DPI will steadily decrease, but you will also view the art from further away, so this lower DPI is not a problem. 300 DPI is the best you can get, anything higher than this does not improve print quality, it won’t be noticeable for the human eye.
The larger you want your print to be, the highest quality the picture has to be. You can ensure picture quality by looking at pixels.
Unacceptable | Highly pixelated picture, resolution too low for printing (less than 40 dpi) |
Poor | Acceptable but not best for printing (40 to 50 dpi) |
Good | Looks good but can still see grains when closeup to image (55 to 75 dpi) |
Very Good | Very good all around, unless you get up reeeeal close (75 to 110 dpi) |
Excellent | Fantastic quality print, full of detail and perfect for showing off your very best shots (+110 dpi) |
